Surveillance equipment DIY trouble shooting

| DVR card |
- Please do not install any kinds of TV tuner or video capture card
along with our products.
- Please remove any existing TV tuner or video capture card before installing
our products. Only remove these cards after you have uninstalled their
drivers and software.
- Reinstalling a fresh version of windows 2k/XP operating system for
the host computer is recommended.
- Install windows SP4/SP1 before installing the DVR cards.
- Please obtain the latest video card driver from it’s manufacturer to
achieve better performance.
- Set the windows display resolution to 1024*768 on 16bit and 60Hz.
- Please make sure you have achieved the minimum requirement stated on
the DVR card manual.
- Certain DVR cards have scheduled computer rebooting as default setting.
This function is to prevent system instability and can be disabled by
their software.
- Certain DVR cards have the lowest image quality as default setting.
The quality can be adjusted by their software.
- Certain DVR cards do not support motherboards with chipsets that is
not Intel’s. These motherboards may cause system instability or unable
to start the program.
- Remember to install the chipset, IDE and AGP drivers provided by the
motherboard manufacturer.
- Saving the recorded video files on the same drive or partition as the
operating system may diminish the DVR card’s performance.
- It is recommended that the PC is dedicated to the purpose of a surveillance
host. Multitasking is not recommended..
- Certain DVR cards with dialing to phone alarm do not support internal
modem. It is possible that internal modem may render this function obsolete.

| Internet/Remote access |
- Please remove the IIS and other WEB services provided by windows before
you operate the remote access program for the DVR cards.
- To avoid the situation of the communication port used for remote access
being taken for other purposes, please read the DVR card manual carefully.
- For 4 cameras remote access, it is recommended that the host computer
has an internet connection with at least 256K upload speed for smooth
performance.
- Remote access speed and quality will be affected by the connection
speed between host and client computer.
- If your host is behind a firewall or shares a bandwidth with other
computers, please remember to adjust the firewall and router to a suitable
setting.
- Please disable the Windows 2k/XP firewall for remote access.
- It is recommended that the host computer has a static IP internet connection.
- To do remote access directly using a web browser, please set the communications
port to port 80.
- If the web browser is unable to start remote access, try to lower the
internet security setting or add the host’s computer’s IP into the trusted
computer sites.
